DWI

Experienced Defense Against DWI Charges

DWIs are a major issue in the state of Texas and the Texas legislature has increased the penalties for DWI convictions in recent years. Depending on your driving record and prior DWI history, a DWI conviction could have you facing imprisonment and/or the loss of your driving privileges. Even a first DWI offense could have you facing serious consequences, including fines, jail time and increased insurance premiums.

At the law firm of Holmes & Moore, P.L.L.C., our experienced criminal defense attorneys provide representation for clients charged with DWI offenses in Longview and East Texas. If you have been arrested and charged with a DWI/DUI offense, it is important that you contact an experienced lawyer right away to begin your defense. With more than 90 years of combined experience, our attorneys can fight to protect your rights and your driving privileges.

If you have been arrested and charged with a DWI in Texas, you have only fifteen days after the date the Notice of Suspension is served to request an administrative hearing. Without contesting the suspension, you will automatically lose your license and your driving privileges. Call Holmes & Moore immediately at 903-758-2200 for help.

DWI and Other Traffic Offenses

At Holmes & Moore, our attorneys represent individuals who have been charged with DWI and other traffic offenses, including:

  • Driving while intoxicated (DWI)
  • Driving under the influence (DUI)
  • Boating under the influence (BI)
  • Driving while license suspended
  • Intoxicated manslaughter
  • Intoxicated assault
  • Hit and run offenses

Our experience and knowledge of the Texas criminal justice system allows us to explore every legal and factual defense that may be available in our clients' cases. We will review the case being built and investigated by law enforcement officials and determine if the investigation has been conducted legally. Our firm will also negotiate for a reduction in charges or press for a dismissal on all charges.

If You Have Been Arrested…

If you are stopped under suspicion of a DWI or DUI, you may be asked to submit to field sobriety tests and a Breathalyzer test. Arresting officers must administer these tests correctly and according to the prescribed procedures, or they may risk having the DWI/DUI charge thrown out. Likewise, Breathalyzer machines are not infallible, and if the machine was not calibrated properly or the test was administered improperly, it may produce inaccurate results. Our firm will factor in all of these elements when defending your rights.

Contact us immediately if you have been charged with a DWI, DUI or other traffic offense in East Texas. Call 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 903-758-2200.
